TYCI is a not for profit collective run by women. Although we are based in Glasgow, we have an amazing variety of contributors who stretch far and wide across the globe.
We are run entirely by volunteers who generously give up their own time, feelings, ideas, and often money to help us celebrate all things femme.
In the short while that we have been functioning, we have expanded from a small monthly club night, to an international multimedia platform and events series. All of what we do now is formed entirely on passionate people coming forward to lend their own ideas of what they want to see and do with the collective.
We are always looking for more contributors to help broaden the discussion and so if you are ever interested in getting involved in the collective, please do contact us because we would love to hear from you.
You can find us on all the socials @tyciblog or email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
So delighted to announce the line up for our Halloween Bash!
This month we’re thrilled to be joined by Glasgow’s own grunge-pop outfit, The Van Ts, and the awesome Gold Flake Paint will be taking to the decks.
Fancy dress is encouraged (especially costumes paying tribute to female icons) and anyone with a costume will get £1 off entry.
This month’s poster is by Joni Langdale.
We are psyched to welcome back punk trio Youth Man, last seen on TYCI stages back in June 2014, as the headliner for our 16 May 2015 love event. Joining them is the awesome STROP (previously FROTH) with Suzi of the SAY Award Long-listed Happy Meals on the decks.

Unfortunately, Joanna Gruesome will no longer be playing 🙁
The night will still go ahead as planned with GAPS headlining.
A msg from the band…
“Joanna Gruesome are sad to say that due to unforeseen circumstances we won’t be able to play our April 18th show for the awesome TYCI at Stereo Cafe Bar. We will however be back in Glasgow in September to play the Glad Cafe”
We will post details on how to claim refunds very soon. Sorry pals.
Indianapolis label Joyful Noise Recordings are consistently on point with the music they release. Their roster boasts the likes of Dinosaur Jr, David Yow, Memory Map, Deerhoof, Joan Of Arc and more.
My latest addiction is newly announced Ko and Kristin Newborn is the lady behind the name. Previously from LA, she now resides in Indianapolis. Having originally been in the intriguingly named Slothpop, Kirstin started penning under the name of Ko from 2007.
Gymnast is Manchester duo Cath Wilcock and Chris Lyon and are today’s New Music Monday pick!
Their debut album Wild Fleet is released on 26th September. ‘Away The Sun’ is a taster of the excellence to come, it is a track to find solace in and Gymnast have invited the world in to peer through the cracks of their window and experience the magic they are creating.
